Home

After having spent a rather miserable time in the hospital for the most of last week (thank you Angela and Clint for the blog entries) I was finally released home of Tuesday. It was good to be back. Unfortunately things did not improve much. I was being fed through my tube but my stomach did not want t keep much of the food. I have been throwing up a lot over the last couple of days. I just feel unwell overall. I do have occasional outbreaks of sweat and feel tired and weak most of the time. My weight has dropped to 176 as of this morning which is about 30 lbs less than two weeks ago.

The good news: Tomorrow afternoon will be my very last session of radiation.

So great to see you typing an entry again! Missed you. And yes, good news ... a great road to recovery lies ahead and lots of chicken soup! Never stopped thinking about you, my friend, and am keeping good thoughts and prayers from afar. Missing you still!

Olaf - glad to see you are back blogging. It was great to see you my friend and give you a hug in person not just words. One more radiation to go and then you get time to recover! Hopefully smoothies will be back soon!!! And game night!!!

I was SO glad to see a new blog, and to have it come straight from you Olaf, made me relax. I was beginning to worry when we hadn't heard anything since Angela's informative blog on Sunday. I am so happy for you that you only have to undergo 1 more of those horrid treatments, and then upward and onward. You continue to be in my thoughts every day.
Take Care

Was great to see you up and about - but as usual I was tongue-tied and didn't do a great job of expressing things properly. But I'm sure you know how anxious I am for you to be feeling better and to be able to start eating well again.

The worst is behind you and better days are just around the corner.

i like how the "skin 'n PEG" matches the floral notes on your pillowcase - that's killer. what is more stellar than anything is the expression on your face: a weary but triumphant look in the eyes "check this out and try to beat it yo' - just try".
judging by your calculations and weight loss, taking into account the weight GAIN as it were you were mentioning earlier, would it be safe to assume you are now closer to your original body mass/weight? (she ducks the ensuing cytotoxic tomato).
and so tomorrow is the final round of radio-gaga with that "masque macabre". it kind of reminds me of those things those fencer guys wear, which reminds me of spiderman's mask for some unknown reason. (sorry. errant imagination starving here in alberta. can i come over and mow your lawn? it'd be in the key of B.) i say meet tomorrow's dawn with the ol' familiar but beloved canuck motto: and "get 'er done". and for goodness sake, use all tools available to you - even the unconventional to do so. you are an artist always. props. xox

Love you!

I can only imagine the effort it took for you to write this, feeling as you do. I'm glad to hear you're finally out of the hospital, and I'm celebrating the last day of radiation with you both. Keep pushing through...you are a conqueror!
